Who We Are. ..

Dekens Community Store is a locally driven system designed to connect available resources with real, immediate needs. It operates on voluntary giving, local awareness, and direct action within the community.

We collect donated goods and financial contributions, then route them where they can do the most good. Usable items are shared directly with individuals and families when a need is identified. Items with resale value are sold to fund ongoing pickups, storage, and future community efforts. Every contribution is used to keep resources moving and support active needs.

Our role is to pay attention. ..to what people have, and to what people need. ..and to connect those two things as efficiently as possible. By keeping the process local, simple, and responsive, we’re able to act quickly and keep support personal.

The long-term vision is to see this model take root in other communities, each one operating independently and shaped by the people it serves. When resources stay local and neighbors stay engaged, support becomes faster, more effective, and more human.
